exobiota is an retro-styled indie Sci-Fi RPG taking inspiration from both old and new first person exploration/narrative focused RPGs. Harness the power of the biological super-resource that made the planet L 98-59 G, also known as Sheol, uniquely pursued by prospectors and corporate expeditions across the Orion Spur, after the discovery of the organisms known now mainly as Cores. Vital to the smooth operation of corporate and state AI super-intelligences as well as integral to unlocking the potential of human augmentation, the Sheol Cores caused a mass migration and exploitation of Sheol known as the Rush four years ago. It's now 2330 and you're a citizen of Sheol from the city, out in its wilds for the first time, fulfilling your sister's last wishes.

She mysteriously disappeared four years ago in the alien wilderness of Sheol and has been declared AWOL and presumed dead. Shortly after, you received a mysterious time-encrypted message. It states your sister's wish that you travel to her old outland outpost to cycle systems and make preparations to retire the outpost. You decide to investigate the valley and its remote science outpost where she was last heard from. You're filled with a new zeal to uncover the truth about your sister. 

Your path will be hard. You will be contaminated, colonized, and faced with dangerous alien life. You'll be forced to straddle the balance between your humanity and the promise of becoming more, and make decisions that will affect your humanity in unexpected ways.
