Exobiota
A downloadable game
Exobiota is a dungeon crawling action-RPG set in the fallen, decaying subterranean underworld of an alien planet far from Earth. Use your alien biological alterations to survive and inhabit the moon of L 98-59-f-II, commonly called Midsheol.
You wake up in a daze, with only fleeting fragments hinting at how you came to be here. You're in an abandoned clinic, alive, saved by a mysterious alien doctor. You're tasked with brokering a lasting peaceful coexistence among various colorful, often-conflicting factions of sapient alien creatures. Explore a hand-crafted, contiguous living world full of strange creatures, multi-species factions, and enigmatic locations.
Explore the Underground Remnant of Dying World
Far below the dead, now airless, surface of the far flung world of Midsheol, life underground continues. Set in the 24th century, humanity is mired in a thousand year dark age. You're part a mission to resume diplomatic ties on Midsheol gone terribly wrong. The catastrophic interstellar civil wars of the 23rd century, whose origins lie here on this unlikely planet, loom large.
Biomechanical Abilities
Adrift, in a demilitarized no-man's land, you must adapt or die. You'll face dangerous creatures with any weapons you can get your hands on, and your new biomechanical abilities. You'll collect various new abilities, acquired by injection of certain serums, which can be crafted or found.
Choose your way to play
Allocate attribute and skill points as you build and level up your character. Will you solve every situation with violence, manipulate alien beings with your willpower, or will you use your powers, skills and cleverness to finesse situations?
Be part of something bigger than yourself
Piece together the fragments of your predicament and help broker a peace between humans and the alien Kinship, a coalition of three symbiotic co-evolved sapient races. Or let the region devolve into full blown war which may spread unchecked. Your choices matter as you navigate the power dynamics and tensions of this pan-specific melting pot.

Really enjoyed this build. The game feels smoother, looks much better, and overall seems far more polished than previous versions. The story is one of the strongest parts for me because it feels mysterious and interesting, and it genuinely makes me want to know what happens next. The world also feels rich and rewarding to explore, with strong visual variety and detailed environments.
Performance on my PC with a Ryzen 5 5500, RX 6600, and 16GB RAM was mostly solid. I had some lag at the start, but it fixed itself quickly and the game ran smoothly after that. I also tested a PS4 controller, and it worked perfectly, which is a great option for players who prefer controllers. The main performance issue I noticed was around checkpoints, where autosaving caused noticeable FPS drops, especially when passing through the same checkpoint multiple times.
Combat feels faster and smoother than before. Movement is responsive, and the axe, spear, pistol, and magic all feel good to use. Combat is currently on the easier side since it is easy to get behind most enemies, though bigger enemies felt much more threatening and fun to fight. I like the class and upgrade systems, and stat upgrades feel rewarding, although some may be slightly too strong right now.
The audio is excellent. Sound effects feel polished, and the music fits the atmosphere perfectly without overpowering the gameplay.
I encountered a few bugs during testing. One troll was stuck levitating in a T-pose and could not die.
Overall, this is a strong step forward. With some optimization and bug fixes, the game has serious potential.
